No matter how perfect a candidate seems, keep in mind that you haven’t met the real person you’re hiring quite yet. While a Google search can provide valuable information, there is no substitute for a professional background check that might reveal red flags such as padded resumes, illness, bankruptcy, or even more serious surprises like malpractice or violent behavior.
Make sure your team is ready
Before your newest hire begins, it’s important to make sure that your existing staff members are prepared and have time available for their roles in onboarding and training. When made in advance, these preparations can go a long way toward making sure the first few days are productive – instead of disruptive.
