Millennials can be described as anyone born between 1980 and 2000. In general, they are those that grew up as the tech boom exploded. Here are a few ways to attract and retain this somewhat difficult demographic:

  1. Connect with tech-mobile marketing must-haves

Because most millennials grew up with access to technology, they like to be connected. Instead of picking up a print publication, millennials are inclined to reference social media for breaking news. Equally important, 85% of all millennials have access to a smart phone.

A key factor in marketing savviness is having a functional website platform. Millennials appreciate being able to manage their accounts online, submit paperwork online, and in general, communicate digitally to get business done. You can also take advantage of connecting with patients via social media. While a millennial is only in the dental office 2 or 3 times per year, you have the option of connecting with them several times per week through various social media outlets.

  1. Authenticity

Show millennials who you! They appreciate it when you’re real and disapprove of anything/anyone too polished. Social media is a great platform to show this group what your team is doing around the office. Remember to post about how you made a significant impact on a patient’s life, because millennials appreciate businesses that provide value to their lives. They aren’t looking for a cookie cutter dental office.

  1. Make a difference by engaging in your community

Millennials are fans of supporting their local community and value small businesses. Take advantage of social media, and show us when your team is out on the town racing for a local charity or eating at the local burger joint.
